Nariman Dzhelal's family, including his wife and four children, has left Russian-occupied Crimea and is heading to government-controlled Ukraine, which will allow Dzhelal to reunite with them.

The family of Deputy Head of the Mejlis Nariman Dzhelal, who was released from Russian captivity, has left the temporarily occupied Crimea for the government-controlled territory of Ukraine. Tonight, Dzhelial will be able to see them for the first time since his release from captivity, in which he had been held since 2021. Dzhelial said this in a commentary to Suspilne, UNN reports.

"Nariman Dzhelal's family has left the occupied Crimea - his wife Leviza and four children are heading to the government-controlled territory. Tonight, Dzhelial expects to see them for the first time since his release from captivity," Dzhelial told Suspilne.

The Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov noted that all the measures taken to ensure the safety of Nariman's family members were over.

"Starting tomorrow morning, Nariman plans to personally contact those journalists who have sent him requests for communication these days," Chubarov said.
