The European Gymnastics Federation (European Gymnastics) has decided to return the flag and anthem of the Russian Federation at competitions under its auspices. The European Gymnastics Federation (European Gymnastics) on July 28 at an extraordinary general assembly of the organization decided to return the flag and anthem of Russia.
The new rules will apply to all competitions under the auspices of European Gymnastics. Exceptions are possible for tournaments, the right to hold which was granted earlier, if local authorities prohibit the use of Russian symbols.

In May 2026, the International Gymnastics Federation lifted sanctions against Russians and Belarusians. Athletes will compete at competitions with national symbols and anthem.
