The ashes of OUN leader Andriy Melnyk and his wife have been brought to Kyiv for commemoration, as reported on Friday by the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ of the UGCC in Kyiv, according to UNN.
The coffins of Andriy Melnyk and his wife Sofiya have already arrived in Kyiv. They have been placed for public honoring at the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ of the UGCC
As stated, "on May 22 and 23, everyone is welcome to come to the temple for prayer and to pay tribute to the prominent Ukrainian statesman and his wife."
"The mortal remains of Andriy Melnyk and Sofiya Melnyk arrived in the capital overnight. They were met by His Excellency Bishop Yosyf Milyan along with the clergy of the Patriarchal Cathedral," the cathedral stated.
Since this morning, as reported, prayers for the repose of Andriy Melnyk and Sofiya Melnyk have been continuously offered at the Patriarchal Cathedral. The cathedral clergy, together with the faithful, are performing joint panikhidas (memorial services), uniting in prayer and gratitude for their lives, sacrifice, and many years of service to the Ukrainian cause.
On May 24, they will be reburied in the Pantheon of Prominent Ukrainians at the National Military Memorial Cemetery in Kyiv.
