Sweden has announced its largest military support package for Ukraine worth about $1.6 billion, UNN writes with reference to the message of the country's Defense Ministry on the website of the Swedish government.
The Swedish government is providing Ukraine with its largest military support package to date, worth almost SEK 16 billion ($1.6 billion)
As reported, "Ukraine has requested capabilities related to air defense, artillery, satellite communications and naval forces."
Together with the support package presented earlier this year, Swedish military support to Ukraine will amount to approximately SEK 29.5 billion ($2.95) for 2025. Thus, the total amount of Swedish military support since 2022 will amount to approximately SEK 80 billion ($8).
This is Sweden's 19th military support package and is the largest to date, and reportedly contains, among other things:
- Procurement through the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) of defence equipment from the Swedish, Scandinavian and European defence industries for Ukrainian defence, taking into account Ukraine's needs for a donation of approximately SEK 9.2 billion.
- Financial donations worth more than SEK 5 billion. A significant portion of international military support is provided through various multilateral initiatives, including within the framework of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (UDCG). The support package includes financial donations to various funds and other multilateral initiatives that purchase materials and equipment for transfer to Ukraine. In particular, the support package includes enhanced cooperation with Denmark within the framework of the established model of support for the Ukrainian defence industry.
- Donations from the country's armed forces in the form of equipment worth just over SEK 500 million. This concerns equipment that can be stored for a limited time.
