Opposition political forces in Armenia have reported systemic violations that call into question the free nature of the vote. Armenia's CEC has already approved the distribution of mandates in parliament.

Six opposition political forces in Armenia have issued a joint statement following the parliamentary elections held on June 7 and the political situation in the country, UNN reports with reference to "News Armenia."

Details

The statement was signed by the "Prosperous Armenia" party, the "Strong Armenia" and "Armenia" blocs, the "Bright Armenia" party, the "Armenian National Congress," and the "National Democratic Pole."

The statement notes that the parliamentary elections in Armenia were held under conditions that, according to the political forces that signed it, "place the free, fair, and competitive nature of the electoral process under fundamental doubt."

Opposition forces claim that throughout the entire electoral process, including the pre-election period and election day, "systemic and organized violations" took place, which significantly affected the free expression of voters' will, the ensuring of equal political competition, and public trust in electoral institutions.

"The presented official election data do not reflect the real will of the people and the accurate results of the elections," the statement reads.

The political forces that signed the document believe that results recorded under such conditions cannot serve as a basis for forming a legitimate government that enjoys the trust of the majority of the people.

Addendum

Today, the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia approved the distribution of mandates in the National Assembly based on the results of the parliamentary elections.

As reported by the Chairman of the CEC of Armenia, Vahagn Hovakimyan, three political forces will enter the new composition of the parliament.

The ruling "Civil Contract" party will receive 64 parliamentary mandates. The "Strong Armenia" bloc will get 29 seats in the National Assembly, and the "Armenia" bloc will receive 12 mandates.

In Armenia, a pro-Russian bloc has filed a petition to annul the election results12.06.26, 14:13
