Several thousand people have already registered to participate in the "Ukrainian Legion" in Poland, Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said at the NATO Public Forum in Washington, reports UNN.
In Poland, we are starting to prepare the first Ukrainian brigade, consisting of volunteers from Poland, we have up to a million people. There are up to a million Ukrainians of both sexes, and several thousand of them have already registered to participate in this call-up. Interestingly, many of them want to serve and rotate their compatriots, but they say we don't want to be thrown into battle without proper training and equipment
Therefore, as Sikorski pointed out, Poland is engaged in training and equipment, after which the volunteers "will be available to the Ukrainian government as a unit with the right to return to Poland."
"If every European country did this, Ukraine would have several brigades," the minister said .

The security agreement with Warsaw provides for the formation and training of the "Ukrainian Legion" in Poland , a new volunteer military unit. Ukrainians living in Poland, Lithuania, and other EU countries will be able to voluntarily join the defense of Ukraine.
