The death toll from Russia’s overnight attack on Zaporizhzhia has reached 7; August 12 has been declared a Day of Mourning in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov said on social media on Tuesday, UNN reports.
Tomorrow, a day of mourning will be declared in Zaporizhzhia Oblast for those killed as a result of the enemy attack on Zaporizhzhia that took place on the night of August 11. According to the regional prosecutor’s office, during the night of August 11, 2026, the Russians launched a massive combined strike with missiles and guided aerial bombs on Zaporizhzhia. The city was struck with North Korean ballistic missiles, "Tsirkon" missiles and guided aerial bombs, President Zelenskyy said.
The shelling damaged residential buildings, industrial infrastructure facilities, and non-residential and garage premises.
