According to the Bureau of economic security, the planes were arrested in the case of tax evasion by the air carrier.
"As part of the investigation of criminal proceedings on tax evasion on a particularly large scale, detectives of the main division of detectives of the Bureau of economic security of Ukraine arrested 7 aircraft by the decision of the investigating judge. In particular, 3 Boeing 737-800 aircraft, one Boeing 737-900 and 3 Embraer 190 aircraft have been arrested so far. their estimated cost is 40 million US dollars," the report says.
Earlier, detectives exposed a well-known airline in tax evasion. Its planes belong to a Cyprus company, which, according to operational information, is affiliated with two well-known Ukrainian oligarchs. The BEB notes that a pre-trial investigation is currently underway on the grounds of a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "evasion of taxes, fees (mandatory payments)".
