Russia overstates by an average of 3–4 times the number of strike aircraft allegedly shot down over its territory. Fire Point urged people not to rely on these figures.

Russians overestimate by an average of 3–4 times the number of strike aircraft launched at their territory. It all depends on what kind of "drama" they need to demonstrate. This was stated by Fire Point CEO and CTO Iryna Terekh, UNN reports.

"We once analyzed single-target missions, where we knew that only our aircraft were flying. On average, the Russians inflated the number of aircraft launched there by 3–4 times and then reported them as shot down," Iryna Terekh said on the YouTube channel "SBS: Unmanned Systems Forces."

According to her, the figures provided by the Russians vary depending on "what kind of drama needs to be stirred up."

"For example, there was a successful mission that required two Flamingos, yes, and both reached the target, while they wrote: "18, 20, 35 Flamingos shot down." The same applies to drones. Therefore, the scariest thing is when our journalists rely on Russian figures to  somehow make calculations," Iryna Terekh noted.

Let us recall

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for an increase in the number of FP-5 Flamingo missiles produced by the Ukrainian company Fire Point, which are used to strike facilities in the Russian rear.

"Thousands of our Deep Strikes have already been seen by moscow, tuapse, tula, ryazan, olenya, omsk, and dozens of other points that our Ukrainian justice has already reached. Russia must see more of this justice. "Flamingos" should not be a rare species but a common bird; they should winter in Russia," the head of state noted.

The FP-5 "Flamingo" is a modern ground-based UAV/cruise missile system,  designed to deliver a specified payload of up to 1,150 kg to strike ground targets with fixed topographic coordinates at a range of up to 3,000 km, both day and night. The missile can hit a target even amid active electronic warfare.

Fire Point emphasizes that the FP-5 stands out for its ease of use and low cost. It is the largest system in its class, but remains simple to manufacture and launch. It does not require expensive launch platforms—its launchers are reusable, making deployment more economical.

The company also produces the long-range FP-1 and FP-2 drones.

Claims about "10 out of 11 downed Flamingo missiles" are an element of Russian information and psychological operations, not a confirmed fact – military expert18.08.26, 12:59
