Russia is launching massive attacks on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure and energy sector to compensate for failed attacks that were supposed to take place in the winter.

Russians are targeting civilian infrastructure. In this way, they are trying to compensate for the unsuccessful attacks that were supposed to take place in the winter. This was stated by a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Andriy Yusov, during a telethon, UNN reports.

According to Yusov, the strikes are aimed at civilian objects that have nothing to do with military or defense infrastructure. The intent is to cause as much destruction and damage as possible to civilian infrastructure  and to complicate the lives of civilians and make life in the country more difficult.

What the Russians failed to do in the winter, they are trying to catch up with now, in terms of destroying Ukraine's energy sector

- He said.
