Russian propaganda has launched a new information campaign aimed at discrediting Ukrainian military personnel. This time, the Russian Federation claimed to be preparing a "report" on "atrocities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," but the published materials contain no confirmed evidence, and some images show signs of being generated using artificial intelligence. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation, according to UNN.

According to the CCD, the newly appointed Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Yana Lantratova, announced the preparation of a so-called "report" containing accusations against Ukrainian military personnel regarding the alleged use of torture involving "brands with a trident," "shackles," and "drills" in the Kursk region and Mariupol.
The Center emphasizes that the photographs shown by the Russian side show signs of being created using artificial intelligence. At the same time, the Russian side provided no factual evidence, results of independent examinations, or photo or video confirmation to support its claims.
The CCD also notes that the allegations of the alleged "branding of civilians," which Russian propaganda is trying to link to Ukrainian military personnel, are part of a long-running campaign to impose the narrative of "Nazism" in Ukraine to justify Russian aggression.
The Center emphasizes that stories about the fictional Mariupol torture chamber "Library" and other similar accusations are an example of the "mirroring" tactic, when Russia tries to shift responsibility for its own war crimes onto Ukraine.
"Russian propagandists simply take real facts, documented by the UN and international investigators, about dozens of Russian torture chambers in Bucha, Kherson, and other cities, and try to attribute their own war crimes to the Defense Forces of Ukraine," the Center for Countering Disinformation emphasized.
The CCD added that the systematic dissemination of such pseudo-reports is part of the Kremlin's information campaign aimed at creating a false "evidence base" and attempts to avoid responsibility for war crimes committed by Russian troops.
