Russia has scaled up an operation on the TikTok social platform featuring manipulative videos with AI-generated images of children. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) of the National Security and Defense Council, according to UNN.
While previously isolated videos with generated children appeared on accounts that published destructive AI content on various topics, Russia has now expanded this operation
The Center tracked the emergence of specific TikTok accounts specializing exclusively in videos with generated "children." Almost all characters in these clips are preschool-aged children crying due to separation from a father who is at war, or due to his death.
It is noted that all these profiles are part of a coordinated network of anonymous TikTok accounts.
Through artificially created emotional images, the enemy attempts to strike at one of the most sensitive topics for defenders — family and children
The goal of the campaign remains unchanged — to instill a sense of guilt in military personnel for "leaving their families" and to undermine their morale.
