The search and rescue operation following the destruction of a high-rise building in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv as a result of a Russian attack has been completed after more than 28 hours; 24 dead and 48 injured have been reported, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko announced on social media on Friday, UNN reports.

According to his data, rescuers cleared more than 3,000 cubic meters of the destroyed building structure.
Almost 400 people, the minister reported, received assistance from psychologists of the State Emergency Service and the National Police, who provided consultations and support to the victims and their relatives at the scene of the tragedy.
"State Emergency Service units have moved on to emergency restoration work," Klymenko indicated.
"Today, a Day of Mourning has been declared in Kyiv for those killed as a result of Russia's massive attack on May 14. This is a heavy loss for the city and for the entire country. Eternal memory to the deceased," the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized.
