Range Rover has unveiled a new GT model, which will become the brand's first fully electric grand tourer. The car is expected to hit the roads in 2027 and will be the fifth model in the Range Rover lineup. This was reported by Autoblog, writes UNN.

The Range Rover GT is built on the new JLR EMA platform and will be the brand's first fully electric model on this architecture. The car is primarily oriented towards driving on paved roads, but the manufacturer states it will retain Range Rover's signature capabilities for challenging conditions. The model will be the closest to a passenger car among the entire brand lineup.
Camouflage hides the details, but the overall silhouette is easily recognizable. The GT abandons the traditional square shape of the Range Rover in favor of a low roofline, a fastback-style body, and smooth aerodynamic lines. It looks more like a luxury grand tourer than a typical SUV.
The front end, however, resembles the Tesla Model Y, although it has sharper shapes and lacks a light bar.
Minimalism reigns in the cabin: almost all functions are concentrated on a large central touchscreen, and a thin digital display is located in front of the driver. Traditional instruments are a thing of the past — just like in Tesla. At the same time, the interior looks spacious and bright.
A concealed air vent runs along the entire dashboard, maintaining the clean horizontal design characteristic of Range Rover. The upper part of the panel is upholstered in a woven material that hides the speakers and adds coziness to the modern interior.
Soft leather, metal elements, a two-spoke steering wheel, and a sculpted center console create an atmosphere more akin to expensive furniture than a typical car.
The main idea of this design is to reduce noise levels and visual clutter, turning the GT into what Range Rover calls a "calm space" for long journeys.
Initially an electric vehicle, then other versions
Range Rover has not yet disclosed the powertrain specifications, but it is known that the GT will debut as a fully electric model. The new EMA platform also allows for the creation of a hybrid version in the future.
Prototypes have already been spotted on the roads in camouflage inspired by the hills around Gaydon, where the Range Rover team works. The golden digital pattern on the covering symbolizes both the terrain the GT is meant to conquer and the technology hidden inside the car.
Managing Director Martin Limpert stated that the goal was to rethink the concept of a grand tourer in a "refined, unique Range Rover style," combining the lightness of electric dynamics, long-distance comfort, and capabilities that traditional grand tourers cannot offer.
Full specifications — power, battery capacity, and range — will be presented by Range Rover during the official premiere of the GT at the end of this year. The car is expected to hit the roads in 2027.
