The prosecutor's office has filed an appeal with the court against the verdict that sentenced actor Ostap Stupka to three years in prison and deprived him of the right to drive vehicles for 8 years for committing an accident in Kyiv while intoxicated. Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv announced the verdict against actor Ostap Stupka in the case of a drunken car accident. Stupka was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for 8 years.
The prosecutor's office reported that the court's verdict would be appealed by the prosecutor on the grounds of incorrect application of the law on criminal liability, due to the leniency of the sentence.

the road accident occurred on April 4 in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv.
According to the investigation, the driver of a Range Rover, moving down Fedorova Street towards the intersection with Kazymyr Malevych Street, drove into the oncoming lane and hit a Mitsubishi parked on the street. As a result of the accident, a man in the car was injured and hospitalized.
The driver of the Range Rover, born in 1967, was detained at the scene. The Drager device showed 1.62 ppm of alcohol in his blood.
The incident was preliminarily classified under Part 1 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic safety rules while intoxicated, which caused the victim a moderate bodily injury). However, taking into account the findings of the forensic medical examination, which established that the bodily injury caused to the victim was severe, the criminal proceedings were reclassified under Part 2 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
