Details

Law enforcement officials note that to obtain intelligence, the FSB engaged its agent from Sumy region, who worked in Kharkiv as a nurse at a local medical facility. The woman asked her colleagues about the locations of the Defense Forces in Kharkiv region.

The woman involved her husband in the criminal activity. He turned out to be a former employee of the disbanded police force who lived in Okhtyrka, Sumy region.

According to SBU counterintelligence, at the request of his wife, the suspect was walking around the border area to identify the locations of Ukrainian defenders. In addition, he was secretly asking his acquaintances for information needed by the aggressor. He sent the information to his wife via messenger, and she then "reported" to her Moscow supervisor. The SBU has already identified him.

According to the investigation, the woman came to the attention of the FSB because of her pro-Kremlin views, which she repeatedly shared on Telegram channels. Her husband also supported the aggressor country and hoped for the occupation of the region by Russian occupation groups,

- law enforcement officials said.

During the search of the detainees' residences, the SBU seized mobile phones and SIM cards of various operators with evidence of criminal actions.

SBU investigators have now served the Russian agent a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

Her husband's criminal actions are classified under Part 2 of Art. 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information on the sending, movement of weapons, armaments and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, movement or deployment of the Armed Forces or other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, committed under martial law). The offenders are in custody. They face from 8 years to life imprisonment.
