The height of the Tower of Jesus Christ, including the cross, is 172.5 meters. This makes the Sagrada Família the tallest church in the world.
The first stone of the temple was laid in 1882, and the following year, the architect Antoni Gaudí took over the work. For him, this project became his life's work.

The Mass took place exactly 100 years after Gaudí's death. At the time of his death in 1926, only one of the 18 planned towers had been erected.
Construction of the temple continued thanks to funding from ticket sales and private donations. Completion of the work is expected within the next decade. In particular, there are plans to create new decorative elements, sculptures, and a staircase to the cathedral's main entrance.
