German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, during a visit to the KNDS plant in Kassel, may have inadvertently confirmed that Germany's most modern wheeled howitzers RCH-155 are already in Ukraine. This is reported by Bild, writes UNN.

During his speech, Pistorius stated that "the wheeled howitzer is very popular in Ukraine." Additionally, according to the publication hartpunkt, he said: "Where you are standing now, ladies and gentlemen, stood, it seems, two years ago, the first wheeled howitzer that went to Ukraine."

The publication notes that previously there was no official confirmation of the transfer of RCH-155 to Ukraine. It was only known about the training of Ukrainian military personnel on these artillery systems in Germany. At the same time, information on whether these howitzers are already being used in combat operations has not been officially confirmed.
What makes the RCH-155 howitzer special
The RCH-155 is considered one of the most modern self-propelled artillery systems in the world. Its main feature is the ability to fire while moving, which significantly complicates its targeting by drones and counter-battery means.
The system is equipped with a fully automated turret, capable of firing up to nine shots per minute and hitting targets at distances over 50 kilometers. A crew of two servicemen is sufficient to operate the howitzer, and its maximum speed on roads exceeds 100 km/h.
Ukraine is to receive a total of 54 RCH-155 howitzers from Germany, which is enough to equip three artillery battalions. At the same time, the Bundeswehr has ordered 84 such systems, and they are also being purchased by Great Britain and Switzerland.
