Permission to export Ukrainian weapons opens new opportunities for cooperation with European manufacturers, attracting investments and developing the defense industry. CEO of Fire Point Iryna Terekh explained how the new mechanism will help manufacturers compensate for excess capacity and strengthen technological partnership with Europe.

Permission to export Ukrainian weapons opens up new opportunities for cooperation with European manufacturers and will also help Ukrainian companies compensate for volumes not contracted by the state. This opinion was expressed by the CEO and CTO of the Ukrainian company Fire Point, Iryna Terekh, reports UNN.

Details

This decision opens up a lot of cooperation, including in Europe, which will ultimately lead to this technological sovereignty. Through joint ventures, we eliminate some competitive factor. Instead of "fighting" with someone in their market, we can unite and create a situation where 1+1 equals 11, not 2. Therefore, opening exports is something many manufacturers fought for, many spears were broken

- stated Iryna Terekh during the program "Topic with Mosijchuk."

According to her, the military-political leadership of the state made a wise decision when it allowed weapons manufacturers to export their products. This, in Terekh's opinion, is an indicator that the authorities are ready to make difficult decisions.

In fact, technology is not something that can be taken out in a suitcase. Even if you bought a set of blueprints, it won't help you. I am even sure that if right now we provide the enemy with a full set of blueprints, their production will not become instantly set up like Fire Point has. Additional factors influence this

- emphasized Iryna Terekh.

Permission to export weapons, in her opinion, will improve the investment climate and may additionally motivate Ukrainians to stay in the country and businesses to develop. Moreover, this decision will allow compensating for uncontracted volumes of weapons that have already been produced.

Production has accelerated tremendously, we could supply the whole world with weapons, but we are limited by the very small limits of the Ukrainian budget. Therefore, this decision is very historic, it is extremely important. Although I understand why it took so long to be made, I am glad it happened and I think we will now see a win-win on all fronts

- summarized Iryna Terekh.

Reminder

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the surplus of production capabilities in Ukraine for certain types of weapons reaches 50%. He added that a mechanism for exporting Ukrainian weapons had been agreed upon.

Partners who help Ukraine were offered a special format of cooperation, Drone Deals – special agreements on the production and supply of our drones, missiles, shells, and other sought-after types of weapons, military equipment, software, integration with partners' defense systems, as well as providing our expertise and the technological exchange needed by Ukraine.

The President also instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, together with intelligence agencies and the SBU, to determine a list of countries to which the export of our weapons is impossible due to their cooperation with the aggressor state.

Later, the Government approved the first transparent mechanism for exporting Ukrainian weapons. In particular, a clear procedure was created that establishes uniform rules for the state, manufacturers, and partners.
