242 battles occurred at the front over the past day, a third of which took place in the Pokrovsk, Huliaipole, and Kostiantynivka directions, the General Staff of the AFU reported in its morning briefing on May 18, showing a map of hostilities, UNN reports.

Yesterday, the enemy carried out 112 airstrikes, dropping 316 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it deployed 8,065 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,716 shellings of settlements and positions of our troops, including 104 from multiple launch rocket systems.
The aggressor launched airstrikes, particularly in the areas of settlements in the Sumy region – Vilna Sloboda, Ulanove.
Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces hit seven areas of enemy manpower concentration and one UAV control point.
Situation by directions
In the Pivnichno-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the aggressor launched 7 airstrikes using 14 KABs over the past day, carried out 95 shellings of our troops' positions and settlements, including six using MLRS. Five enemy assault actions were recorded.
In the Pivdenno-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our units 13 times in the areas of the settlements of Vovchanski Khutory, Prylypka, Dvorichanske, Starytsia, Veterynarne, and towards Izbytske, Zybine, Ternova, Okhrimivka, and Kolodiazne.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked twice, towards Petropavlivka and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy tried to wedge into our defense eight times, attacking towards the settlements of Lyman, Yampil, Drobysheve, and Zarichne.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled three attempts by the invaders to advance towards Rai-Oleksandrivka, Zakitne, and Mykolaivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 22 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Toretske, Shakhove, Sofiivka, and in the direction of Vilne and Kucheriv Yar.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 32 assault actions of the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Sukhetske, Ivanivka, Nove Shakhove, and towards Myrnyi, Bilytske, Serhiivka, and Novopavlivka.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive actions over the past day.
In the Huliaipole direction, the occupiers carried out 24 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Zlahoda, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, Olenokostiantynivka, and towards Nove Zaporizhzhia, Vozdvyzhivka, Staroukrainka, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, and Charivne.
In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders stopped two enemy attempts to advance in the areas of Bilohiria and Stepnohirsk.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy conducted three attacks towards Antonivka.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groupings were detected.
