A petition has been posted on the official website of the President of Ukraine, where the author calls for the creation of nuclear weapons, because "this is the only way Ukraine will be considered, UNN reports.
"It's no secret that in this world only the strong are reckoned with. There are many examples in world history when the support of partners depends on whether you have nuclear potential. The country does not have to use this potential. But you will be taken into account," the petition says.
The author notes that the countries that signed the Budapest Memorandum do not fully fulfill their obligations, fearing an escalation with Russia (because it has nuclear weapons).
As of now, the petition has gained 501 votes out of the 25 thousand needed.
"Another example is Israel. Why does the United States not only support it with weapons but also take part in the conflict in the Middle East? Israel is a nuclear country! Please support the creation of nuclear weapons by Ukraine. There will be no greater escalation than there is now in Ukraine. We have to become a strong and independent country," the petition says.
