The mayor of Lebedyn, Sumy region, Oleksandr Baklykov, who joined the defense of Ukraine in the fall of 2022, was killed in the war. This was announced by the mayor of Trostyanets, Yuriy Bova, UNN reports .
"I still can't believe it, my colleague and friend Oleksandr Baklykov, the mayor of Lebedyn, Sumy region, died at the front," Yuriy Bova wrote on Facebook .
The head of the Nedryhaylivka community, Konstantin Volkov, also wrote about the death of Oleksandr Baklykov.
On September 13, 2022, Baklykov wrote on Facebook that he was joining the army.
There are no former paratroopers. And as a healthy, experienced paratrooper, it is incredibly painful for me to bury our children who are dying for Ukraine, for each of us.
And so, I made a decision that I consider to be the only right one (otherwise I would not be Baklykov)," wrote Baklykov at the time.
