There were 96 combat engagements in the frontline over the last day. The enemy continues to be most active in the Pokrovsk sector, where almost a third of its offensives took place. This is stated in the report of the General Staff as of 8:00 a.m. on August 8, UNN reports.
According to the updated information, yesterday the enemy launched three missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas using five missiles, as well as 69 air strikes, dropping 110 combat vehicles. In addition, it fired over 5,200 rounds of fire, 114 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.
Yesterday, the aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces conducted 11 strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel and weapons, as well as destroyed two air defense systems, seven air defense systems and two ammunition depots of the occupiers.

The number of attacks on the XArkiv direction increased to three per day. Defense forces repelled enemy assaults near Vovchansk and Tykhy.
In the Kupyansk sector, there were five Russian attempts to advance near Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka and toward Novoosynove.
In the Liman sector, the enemy attacked 12 times near Novosergiyivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Torske and in the Serebryansky forest.
In the Northern sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled six assaults by Russian invaders near Spirne, Verkhnekamianske and Pereyizne.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupants attacked seven times, concentrating all their efforts near Chasovyi Yar. Two air strikes were carried out there with NARs.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy carried out 11 attacks in the areas of Pivnichne, New York, Zalizne and Toretsk. The Russian aggressor conducted 19 air strikes on Toretsk and the adjacent territories, dropping more than three dozen guided bombs.
In the Pokrovske sector, our defenders repelled 28 assaults in the areas of ten different settlements. Vozdvyzhenka, Zhelanne, Karlivka and Hrodivka are the main areas of concentration of the occupiers' efforts. With the support of aviation, the Russians tried to force our units out of their positions.
In the Kurakhove sector , Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled five enemy attacks near Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka and Paraskoviivka.
In the Vremivsk sector , Russian troops made two attempts to advance from Volodymyrivka.
In the Orikhivsk sector, one combat engagement took place in the vicinity of Robotyne.
On the Prydniprovsky direction, all four attacks of the invaders were unsuccessful.
No signs of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions.
On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy is shelling settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation and conducting air strikes.
"Our soldiers continue to deplete the enemy's combat potential on the front line and in the rear," the General Staff said.
