"The State Logistics Operator has agreed with suppliers on a maximum price ceiling for food supplied to the Armed Forces. It has also provided a mechanism to reduce them, depending on the market situation. This was announced by Arsen Zhumadilov, Director General of the State Operator of the Logistics, during a national telethon, UNN reports.
Details
According to Zhumadilov, this practice used to be applied only to the most popular products supplied to the Ukrainian army. Now this practice is being extended to all products in the catalog.
We have set fair ceiling prices for all food items included in the catalog used to purchase kits for our military personnel. Previously, such ceiling prices were set for some of the most popular items at prices higher than in supermarkets, but we have set a goal to ensure that the prices in our catalog do not exceed those in supermarkets. We have a mechanism in place, and it will be applied, to reduce prices in the event of such a reduction in supermarkets. We can't have a situation where buckwheat in supermarkets is already 25 hryvnias, but under the contracts of the Ministry of Defense it is still supplied at 50 hryvnias
