Details
It is noted that the Sea King is an old type of helicopter, and finding spare parts for them can be difficult. Sea King helicopters were in service in Norway from 1973 to 2023, and now they have been replaced by SAR Queen helicopters. Norwegian helicopters have reached their maximum flight time and cannot be donated.
The Black Sea and the maritime industry in general are of strategic importance to Ukraine and are crucial to its ability to export goods. The Maritime Capability Building Coalition targets the Ukrainian Navy as a whole and covers the full range of maritime capabilities, including the Ukrainian Coast Guard,
Germany has decided to provide six helicopters to Ukraine, and the UK plans to provide three. Norway is donating spare parts for the six helicopters that Germany has donated.
Recall
Ukraine and Norway have agreed to extend the "transport visa-free regime" for bilateral and transit traffic without permits until September 30, 2024.
