During the protest in Tbilisi, she emphasized that these elections, in which the people did not participate, are illegitimate. The protesters who joined the march called Zurabishvili the only legitimate president and said they would not recognize the results of the election of the new leader.
Zurabishvili echoed their sentiments, saying: "There is nothing, no one has elected anyone, nothing has happened.
She also thanked the demonstrators for their support in the fight against what she believes to be illegitimate elections.
At the same time, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze commented on the protests in the country, saying that the "Ukrainian Maidan" scenario had failed and the opposition had been defeated.
"The radical opposition first lost the elections and then the street. You know that there are four parties that receive serious support from abroad, as well as more than a dozen wealthy NGOs. But all together, they have not been able to gather even 2,000 people at rallies in recent days. This is their real situation, which is very good for our country. In Georgia, Maidan has failed and will never happen," Kobakhidze said during the briefing.
The prime minister also emphasized that the government was able to "completely neutralize the violent resource of the radical opposition.
