There is no shortage of electricity in the Ukrainian power system, and a thermal power plant unit has returned to operation after repairs, the Energy Ministry said on Monday, UNN reports.

A TPP unit went out for short-term repairs. At the same time, 1 TPP unit returned to operation after a short-term emergency repair.
According to Ukrenergo, the level of electricity consumption yesterday, December 17, was lower than on the previous Sunday, December 10, due to warming. A 5°C rise in outdoor temperatures reduced the daily maximum consumption on December 17 by 4.4% compared to December 10.
"However, the overall level of consumption remains high. This is typical for the winter period, but still creates an additional load on the power system. Therefore, it is still very important to consume electricity economically now," Ukrenergo said.
Consequences of shelling.
According to the Ministry of Energy, the mine, which was without power due to shelling in Donetsk region, has been powered up.

"The water level in the cooling pond has not changed and is 15.66 meters. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant," the Ministry of Energy said.

According to the Ministry of Energy, electricity imports amounted to 9,613 MWh over the past day. There were no exports.
According to Ukrenergo, there are no exports today, and electricity is imported from Slovakia, Romania, and Moldova throughout the day.
