The "We are Strong. We are Together" series has been expanded with two new circulating commemorative coins dedicated to the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, UNN reports, citing the NBU.
Details
The National Bank is today putting into circulation two new circulating commemorative coins from the thematic series "We are Strong. We are Together," dedicated to the unity of Ukraine and its regions:
- “We are Strong. We are Together. Sumy Region”;
- “We are Strong. We are Together. Chernihiv Region”.
Our series of circulating commemorative coins "We are Strong. We are Together" is a chronicle of Ukrainian unity and resilience, struck in metal. Each of its coins is dedicated to the regions and their residents who, in essence, create our united and indivisible Ukraine. Sumy and Chernihiv regions were among the first to take the blow of the full-scale invasion and demonstrated the strength of the Ukrainian character to the world. These circulating commemorative coins embody our gratitude to the residents of the border regions who stood firm, protected their communities, maintained faith in Ukraine, and proved: the true power of the state lies in the unity of its people. Today, we are immortalizing the memory of the resilience, mutual support, and indomitable spirit of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. Because our unity lies in our common struggle, memory, and confidence: we are strong when we are together
About the Design
The coins "We are Strong. We are Together. Sumy Region" and "We are Strong. We are Together. Chernihiv Region" have a face value of 10 hryvnias and are made of a zinc-based alloy with a nickel coating.
The obverse of both new circulating commemorative coins is identical to the obverse of the 10-hryvnia circulating coin of the 2018 design. In the center, framed by an Old Rus ornament, are the coin's denomination, the year of minting, and the State Emblem of Ukraine.
The main element of the reverse of these coins is a stylized map of Ukraine with clearly defined administrative boundaries and an image of the territory of the regions to which they are dedicated. Specifically, the Sumy region is highlighted on the "We are Strong. We are Together. Sumy Region" coin, and the Chernihiv region on the "We are Strong. We are Together. Chernihiv Region" coin.
