The head of the British intelligence service, Anne Keast-Butler, stated that nearly 500,000 Russian military personnel have died since the beginning of the full-scale war against Ukraine. This was reported by Sky News, according to UNN.
According to Keast-Butler, new intelligence data indicates that the Russian army's fatalities are approaching half a million people.
This shows that Vladimir Putin is moving backward on the battlefield
As Sky News notes, this is the first time that official figures specifically for the number of Russian military fatalities have been voiced, as previous estimates usually included the wounded as well.
Keast-Butler also stated that Russia is "ramping up daily hybrid activity" against the UK and Europe and is "continuously attacking critical infrastructure, democratic processes, supply chains, and public trust."
We are working tirelessly alongside intelligence and defense partners to weaken and diminish the Russian threat
