On December 12, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mariana Betsa met with a representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Ukraine, Caroline Lindholm Billing. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, according to UNN.

It is noted that during the meeting, special attention was paid to the support of Ukrainian educational centers abroad. In particular, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring access to quality education in the Ukrainian language to preserve national identity and called for support for the activities of such educational centers.
Mariana Betsa expressed gratitude for the support and assistance provided by UNHCR in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
UNHCR's activities in 2025, including the agency's contribution to the implementation of the Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan for Ukraine and the UNHCR Regional Plan, aimed at supporting the most vulnerable, will play an important role in sustaining support to the Ukrainian people
UNHCR reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting Ukraine by providing the necessary assistance to those affected by the war, with a particular focus on enhanced assistance to the population of the frontline regions of Ukraine.
In addition, the parties discussed joint projects of the MFA and UNHCR aimed at strengthening the technical capabilities of the Ukrainian consular service and the interaction between foreign diplomatic missions and UNHCR offices in a number of countries to improve conditions for Ukrainian citizens who were forced to leave their homes due to Russian aggression.
