The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle spoke about her experience of postpartum preeclampsia - a dangerous complication that causes high blood pressure and can be life-threatening. She stated this in the premiere episode of the new podcast "Confessions of a Woman Founder", Page Six reports, UNN reports.

Markle noted that both she and the first guest of her podcast, Bumble dating service founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, both faced this rare and alarming problem after the birth of their children.
"It's such a rare and creepy problem," the 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex said of the condition, which is characterized by high blood pressure and excess protein in the urine after childbirth.
You're still trying to juggle all these things, and the world doesn't know what's going on quietly. And in silence, you're still trying to be around people - mostly your children - but these things are huge medical fears.
Markle did not specify when she suffered from postpartum preeclampsia after the birth of her son Archie or daughter Lilibet.
After her confession, the former actress shared what it's like to be a working mom raising two young children at home.
"(I became a mom) in a pandemic, post-pandemic culture where there's so much work from home," Markle recalls. "I don't leave home to go to the office. My office is here
"Lily... only has half a day in kindergarten. If she wakes up [after a nap] and wants to find me, she knows where to find me, even if the door to my office is closed," the Duchess continued. "She will sit on my lap during one of these meetings with all the managers."
However, Markle wouldn't want her career to look "any different."
"I don't want to miss those moments," she said enthusiastically. "I don't want to miss the moment I get picked up if there's no need to."
Markle further explained that Archie and Lilibet bring her "perspective" into the process of creating her lifestyle brand As Ever, especially noting her daughter's potty training amid her own business ideas.
