US President Joe Biden made a "good decision" by allowing Ukraine to use US-made weapons on Russian territory, French President Emmanuel Macron said from France late Monday night, UNN reports citing Politico.

Macron said that Biden's new path was chosen in response to the escalation of the war against Ukraine by Russia, which used soldiers from North Korea to serve alongside its troops.
"Russia is the only state that made an escalation decision... in fact, this is what led to the US decision," the French president said on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier that the use of American weapons against targets in Russia is "a qualitatively new situation in terms of the United States' involvement in this conflict.
The Russian military has long used foreign-made weapons, such as Iranian Shahed drones, to attack Ukraine.
Earlier this year, Macron said he favored allowing Ukraine to strike military targets in Russia, given that Moscow takes advantage of Western restrictions on the use of missiles provided by the West.
On Sunday, reports emerged that the outgoing US Biden administration had authorized Kyiv to use long-range ATACMS against Russia.
"The United Kingdom is expected to supply Ukraine with Storm Shadow missiles due to a change in the US position. Germany has said that it is sticking to its position of not supplying Ukraine with long-range missiles," the newspaper writes.
