The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, met with the new Russian Ombudsman, Yana Lantratova. He announced this on social media, UNN reports.
Details
According to Lubinets, the negotiations lasted over three hours. During the meeting, they managed to agree on continuing all the positive developments achieved previously.
This includes:
- verification and return of prisoners of war and illegally detained civilians;
- delivery of letters and parcels from prisoners of war to their families;
- mutual visits and inspection of detention conditions;
- work on family reunification;
- establishing the fate of persons missing under special circumstances.
Separately, an agreement was reached on the verification of all existing lists regarding prisoners of war and civilians held in places of detention.
An agreement was also reached to further expand the humanitarian track in the interests of the people. The first practical result of this work today was the return of five Ukrainian citizens. With the support of the ICRC, we reunited three families. The oldest of the evacuees is 84 years old
The fact of the meeting with the Ukrainian Ombudsman was also confirmed by Lantratova herself.

Yana Lantratova replaced Tatyana Moskalkova as the Russian Commissioner for Human Rights. In 2024, the Security Service of Ukraine notified Lantratova of suspicion of involvement in the forced deportation of children from Kherson.
