The Kuibyshev Oil Refinery in Russia's Samara region has ceased oil processing following an attack on June 10. This was reported by Reuters, citing industry sources, according to UNN.
Details
According to the agency, two primary distillation units, AVT-4 and AVT-5, were knocked out as a result of damage and fires. Each of them is capable of processing approximately 10,000 tons of crude oil per day.
Earlier, a fire was reported on the enterprise's territory following the attack. The Governor of the Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, reported three casualties and damage to several industrial facilities in the region. Subsequently, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the strike on the plant.
One of the largest refineries in the region
The Kuibyshev Oil Refinery is part of the structure of the Russian company Rosneft and is one of the largest oil refining enterprises in the Samara region.
This is not the first attack on the facility. In January of this year, the plant had already been targeted, and in August 2025, it temporarily suspended operations after a drone attack. In March 2024, drones also damaged one of the enterprise's production units, causing the production cycle to be suspended.
