"The deputy commander of Hamas's Shejaiya battalion was killed in a recent airstrike in Gaza City," the military said.
According to the IDF, Ayman Shweida took part in the October 7 attack and carried out numerous attacks on Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip during the war.
Along with Schweida, one of the company commanders of the Shejaiya battalion, Ubada Abu Hein, who participated in a large number of attacks, was killed in the strike, IDF officials said.
