Metropolitan Ilarion and his driver have been released from custody in the Czech Republic. They were detained the day before due to drugs found in the trunk. This was reported on the Metropolitan's Telegram channel, according to UNN.
Details
Reportedly, they were released without additional restrictions, including bail or a travel ban. At the same time, the forensic examination confirmed that the powder found in the car "belongs to prohibited substances," and the investigation will continue.
Ilarion's defense notes that the clergyman's vehicle was stopped based on an anonymous tip, and it is unknown how exactly the substance ended up there. Ilarion himself was not present during the search of the vehicle.
