In the Lviv region, a 54-year-old man is suspected of systematically raping a 14-year-old girl who was his foster daughter. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, UNN writes.
In the Lviv region, a 54-year-old man is suspected of systematically sexually abusing a minor girl who, together with her two biological sisters, had been placed in his foster family for care. According to the investigation, the unlawful acts continued for about a year
In April 2023, three sisters aged 10, 11 and 17 were placed in a foster family in the Stryi district. After the eldest sister left to study, the two younger children remained under the care of their foster parents.
According to the investigation, in August 2025, taking advantage of the material and domestic dependence of the then-14-year-old foster child, the man began committing sexual acts against her.
Thereafter, for a year, the man systematically—at least three times a week—committed violent sexual acts against the girl and raped her.
According to the investigation, the man used psychological pressure, intimidation and physical violence, and, in order to suppress the girl's resistance, threatened to sexually abuse her younger sister.
In July 2026, the minor told an acquaintance who was abroad about what she had experienced. The acquaintance contacted law enforcement officers. After that, the man was detained.
Under the procedural guidance of the Stryi District Prosecutor's Office, he was notified of suspicion of committing lewd acts, sexual violence and rape of a person under sixteen years of age, committed by a person entrusted with duties concerning the victim's upbringing.
The suspect was remanded in custody without the right to bail.
