In Kyiv, the number of sections where traffic is allowed at a speed of up to 80 km/h from April 1 will be limited to four.

We remind you that according to the decision of the Kyiv City Council, from April 1, traffic is allowed at a speed of up to 80 km/h in 17 sections
However, according to the KMDA, after a commission inspection of the capital's streets, the potential number of sections was reduced to seven. After additional analysis of the accident rate of the sections, cases of fatal road accidents in 2024 were found on three of them.
In this regard, the speed limit will be prohibited on these sections. Therefore, increasing the speed limit to 80 km/h is possible only on 4 sections:
- Naberezhne Highway (from Poshtova Square to Nadnipryanske Highway);
- Roman Shukhevych Ave. (from the North Bridge to Onore de Balzac Street);
- Stepan Bandera Ave. (from Yordanska Street to the North Bridge);
- Naberezhno-Rybalska Street (only in one direction – from Elektrykiv Street to Havanskyi Bridge).
Be careful on the roads. Observe the speed limit and traffic rules!
Addition
In Kyiv, from April 5, traffic of vehicles and pedestrians will be closed on part of the European Union Avenue. This is due to the construction of a metro to Vynohradar. The KMDA informed that changes in traffic will be announced additionally.
From March 28 to August 1, traffic on the Southern Bridge from the left bank to the right bank will be partially restricted. Restrictions are related to the repair of the right-bank overpass.
