Strikes on the Russian military-industrial complex make it possible to stop the production of critical weapon components. By 2026, Russia plans to produce over 100,000 attack drones.

Major General Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, stated that by striking Russian military-industrial complex facilities, Ukraine can disrupt or halt the aggressor's weapons manufacturing process. He said this during the panel discussion "Europe's New Arsenal: Lessons from Ukraine's Defense Innovations" at the International Forum "Security Architecture" in Kyiv, UNN reports.

By striking the Russian defense-industrial complex, we have the opportunity to disrupt or even stop the production of certain types of weapons and critical components,

 he said.

The Deputy Chief of the GUR also drew attention to the fact that in 2026, Russia planned to manufacture over 100,000 drones of various modifications, such as "Shahed," "Geran," and "Gerbera."

For comparison, in 2024, the corresponding defense order of the aggressor country amounted to 12,000 such drones,

 Skibitskyi said.

This became possible for official Moscow also because it continues to bypass international sanctions and receive foreign components for the production of weapons, including missiles. According to him, this problem requires strengthening control over compliance with the sanctions regime and further pressure on the aggressor state.

10 drones flew into the territory of Poland. In one night — 10 drones. Not even 200, not 400, not 800, as fly into our territory. And there, the realization began that the country is not ready to very quickly, in a short period of time, build a completely new air defense system, [...] which we created on our territory,

noted the Deputy Chief of the GUR.

As a reminder

The Ukrainian military regularly attacks Russian military-industrial complex enterprises using drones. For instance, on the night of May 23, the Defense Forces struck the "Sheskharis" terminal, the "Grushovaya" oil depot, and the tanker CHRYSALIS.
