Google Play has removed Russian apps VK (VKontakte), the Max messenger, and Odnoklassniki from its store. This is reported by UNN with reference to Russian media.
Details
This happened after the EU imposed sanctions against the VK holding and its associated developer company Max.
A wide range of products owned by the VK holding were removed. Specifically, specialized services disappeared from search: "VK Video", "VK Music", "VK Messenger", "VK Dating", as well as the mail and cloud storage Mail.ru. Users also cannot download the auxiliary tools "Yula", "Marusya", and "Calendar".
At the same time, the VK press service stated that all applications "continue to operate normally" and can be downloaded from third-party platforms.
Recall
In June, Apple removed key services of the Russian holding VK from the AppStore due to sanctions.
