Four years of work for Ukrainians: how the Myasomarket chain of stores is developing

Myasomarket stores appeared on the Ukrainian market in 2020. They were launched jointly with franchise partners by MHP, an international food and agro-technology company. As of July 2024, the Myasomarket chain has expanded to more than 280 stores operating in 22 regions of Ukraine, not only in large cities but also in towns and villages, UNN reports.

Over the 4 years of its operation, the chain has changed the emphasis in its assortment, introduced a unique profession for Ukraine and this year updated its design. Let us tell you more about these and other facts about Myasomarkets.

More and more ready-made solutions for consumers

The first Myasomarket opened in Kovel on July 17, 2020. Even then, it was a convenient convenience store format with everything for the customer: different types of meat, groceries, dairy products, bakery products, vegetables, etc. The store shelves also offer delicious and high-quality products of MHP brands.

As a culinary company, MHP is increasingly focusing on ready-to-eat meals that allow consumers to invest time in what matters most to them - family, hobbies, study, and recreation - rather than cooking. This also affects the assortment of Myasomarkety. More and more ready-to-eat meals -   are available on store shelves, from fresh salads to pizza and cutlets. By the way, an interesting fact: over the entire period of operation, guests have bought more than 1 million ready-made chicken cutlets in the chain's stores.

Also in 2023, Myasomarkety launched its own brand, Secrets of the Chef, which is available exclusively on the shelves of the company's retail chains (Myasomarket, Eat Fresh and Nasha Ryaba). The brand is actively developing and already has more than 40 products in several categories: marinades, sauces, ketchups and mayonnaises, canned food, sunflower oil, condiments, frozen ready-to-eat food, ready-to-eat meals, and products for cooking and storing food, including for the barbecue season.

Meat sommeliers are a new word in the customer experience of Ukrainians

For the Myasomarket chain, MHP is introducing the profession of meat sommeliers. These specialists distinguish the company's retail from other chains and provide consumers with more than just good service, because they are -  not just sellers, but cooking consultants.

Meat sommeliers are the unofficial chefs of Ukrainian families. They recommend to the customer not just a product from the shelf, but a dish that can be prepared from the products available in the store. A meat sommelier is a good friend of a guest who knows their tastes, the tastes of their family, family culinary traditions, and can offer exactly what this person needs. The company plans that customers will follow the meat sommelier between Meat Markets like they follow their beauty therapist or doctor.

Updated design and "Same old, same old?"

In 2024, Myasomarket updated its design, which has become a symbol of the brand's growth and transformation. It visually conveys the transition from a narrow meat specialization to a multi-category format that covers all aspects of daily shopping. Updating the identity allowed us to preserve the brand's previous achievements. At the same time, we started to expand its perception to a multi-category store where you can find different categories of goods. 

The chain has also launched a large-scale advertising campaign called "Is it the same for you as always?". In this way, the brand establishes an emotional connection with the customer, emphasizing that they are known and loved at Myasomarket, and that they remember their tastes and preferences. And a trip to the store is not an annoying duty, but a visit to a place where you are always welcome and ready to help.

MHP is opening Meat Markets in two formats simultaneously - franchisees and own retail. Thanks to the work of its partners, the stores operate in almost all regions of the country. As a culinary company, MHP currently provides 70% of its franchisees with raw materials, processed products, ready-to-cook products, and ready-to-eat food, including cooking.

In the 4 years since its foundation, the chain has been developing dynamically -  Myasomarkety has been consistently among the leading chains in terms of store openings. Forbes Ukraine has included the Myasomarket franchise in the list of formats that save businesses during the war, as they have remained resilient to changes, held on to the market and even significantly increased the number of stores and establishments. In 2023, the chain won silver in the FMCG Convenience Store/Mini-Market of the Year nomination at the RAU Awards 2023, which honored the best companies in the retail industry. And this year, Myasomarket was ranked first in terms of the number of franchisees among all franchised food operators with a universal range of products (data from GT Partners/All Retail).
