Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not interested in negotiations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in response to Pope Francis' proposal to start a dialogue to resolve the conflict peacefully.  The head of state said this in an interview with Le Monde and BFMTV published on March 11, UNN reports.

The example of Odesa (where Russia launched a missile strike just a few hundred meters from the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis-ed.) shows that Putin is not interested in negotiations. For him, the pause is not negotiations, it is oxygen, a way to catch his breath, to take time to restore the combat capability of his army, to train his young recruits who are now entering the battle unprepared and fleeing the battlefield. And to resume production

- Zelensky said.

He also noted that Ukraine is being shelled by North Korean shells and missiles. This suggests that the Russian army is running out of weapons.

Context

The other day Pope Francis, speaking about the war unleashed by Russia, said that Ukraine should have what he called the courage of the "white flag" and negotiate.

Later , Vatican Press Office Director Matteo Bruni explained that Pope Francis declared a "white flag" , expressing hope for a peaceful resolution of the conflict, referring to Ukraine as a country that has always been a "martyr.
