Over the course of the week, as stated, pyrotechnic units, together with specialists from the Unmanned Systems Forces, cleared areas of explosive ordnance. Using UAVs and robotic systems, they surveyed the terrain and bodies of water, detected, removed and transported dangerous finds for subsequent destruction.
Specialists from mobile mine-safety classes, together with community rescue officers, educated the public: they explained to children and adults how to act if explosive ordnance is discovered.
"Despite the completion of the work by the main forces, efforts to eliminate the consequences of the emergency are ongoing. Sappers, divers and canine teams continue to survey the area, respond to reports of dangerous finds and carry out the necessary work until the threats have been fully eliminated," the State Emergency Service said.
