Former Russian military serviceman Oleksandr Lunin, who fought against Ukraine, released a video address to Vladimir Putin in which he stated that the Russian army could "turn its weapons against the Kremlin." He also demanded a personal meeting with the Russian dictator and the opportunity to appear with him live, according to ASTRA and "Agency", reports UNN.
Details
In his address, Lunin claims to be conveying a message allegedly from representatives of law enforcement agencies. According to him, "dozens, hundreds, thousands" of Russian soldiers are being held by commanders in basements and pits, where they are tortured for refusing to carry out "suicidal orders" or hand over their money to the command.
The serviceman threatened the Kremlin
Vladimir Vladimirovich, pay attention to this. Invite me to your place. The consequences will be very serious. If I do not come to the Kremlin in the near future and appear live next to you, the army will turn its weapons against the Kremlin. I am only conveying a message
Later, he repeated this threat during a conversation with officials, stating that without such a meeting, "the entire front turns its weapons on the Kremlin."
A deputy minister came to Lunin
As ASTRA noted, after the video address was published, the deputy minister of internal policy of the Voronezh region, Denis Wolf, arrived to see Lunin. In the released video, the official tries to talk to the former serviceman and notes that he has "a certain conflict with the district and the settlement," which the authorities are trying to resolve.
During the meeting, Lunin raised his voice, stated that he would take an axe in his hands if they did not listen to him, and insisted that his address should be shown on all federal television channels in Russia.
Journalists identified the serviceman
According to "Agency", until 2023, Lunin had the surname Pustovalov. He served in the Sudoplatov volunteer battalion in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region, where he was a rifleman and later a unit commander. Lunin himself confirmed to journalists that he fought against Ukraine from the beginning of 2023, was a squad commander and reconnaissance platoon commander, and also served in the Kursk direction.
At the same time, ASTRA reports that Lunin likely holds neo-Nazi and neo-pagan views. On his social media pages, journalists found symbols associated with the Third Reich, including images of the "Black Sun" and other Nazi paraphernalia.
Lunin's video address quickly gained publicity – at the time of publication, it had been viewed almost 8 million times. There is currently no independent confirmation of his statements about the situation of Russian soldiers or the alleged appeal of security forces to Putin.
