A former UN official from Canada, who now works as an expert on North Korea, has been detained in Switzerland on charges of espionage, allegedly in favor of China,

It is noted that the suspect regularly traveled to China on business trips as an environmental consultant.

The 50-year-old suspect, who lived in Geneva, is currently behind bars, pending the completion of the investigation by the Swiss Prosecutor General's Office.
