Permits for bus routes through "Shehyni" due to possible queues have been allowed to be used at two other checkpoints with Poland, the Ministry of Development reported on Friday, writes UNN.
Carriers can use permits for regular transportation through the "Shehyni" checkpoint at other checkpoints with Poland – "Nyzhankovychi" and "Smilnytsia"
The Ministry of Development of Ukraine, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Poland, as reported, "agreed on the possibility of using permits for regular international passenger transportation, issued for the 'Shehyni – Medyka' checkpoint, also at the 'Nyzhankovychi – Malhowice' and 'Smilnytsia – Krościenko' checkpoints."
The decision was made in connection with repair works on the Polish side of the border at the "Shehyni" checkpoint, which began on June 15 and will last until the end of 2027, and may slow down the processing of buses.
"From now on, carriers can use such permits at three checkpoints. The corresponding settings have already been updated in the eCherha system – so carriers can book a queue with such permits for two more checkpoints," the statement reads.
This is expected to ensure the continuous operation of bus routes and reduce waiting time at the border.
Travelers are urged to take these changes into account and use alternative checkpoints if necessary.
