Law enforcement officers detained an organizer of international drug trafficking in the capital. They seized 9 kg of psychotropic substances worth UAH 6.5 million, which were planned to be smuggled abroad via postal services. UNN reports this with reference to the Prosecutor General's Office.

A resident of Kyiv was served a notice of suspicion of smuggling narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors, as well as manufacturing and selling psychotropic substances (Part 3 of Art. 27, Part 2 of Art. 15, Part 3 of Art. 305, Part 3 of Art. 27, Part 3 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspect organized drug trafficking, created and administered a number of Telegram channels where he ordered batches of prohibited substances. In addition, he set up a channel for the sale of psychotropic substances - amphetamine and alpha-PVP - to European countries and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
For this purpose, he involved accomplices who manufactured, stored and sold narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in particularly large amounts.
Payment for the "goods" was made in cryptocurrency. This provided the suspect with additional anonymity. The monthly income from the illegal activity amounted to almost UAH 1.5 million.
In June-July 2024, law enforcement officers documented the facts of drug trafficking by mail in Ukraine. The smuggling of psychotropic drugs across the border was prevented. At a state border checkpoint, 4 kg of Alpha-PVP was seized in a postal shipment. Also, the facts of delivery of such shipments to Poland, Belarus, Russia and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine were established.
During the searches of the suspect's residence and cars, the SBU found and seized 5 kg of Alpha-PVP psychotropic substance, a vehicle, mobile phones and cash. The total weight of the seized drug products, which he intended to smuggle abroad, is over 9 kg. According to black market prices, the value of the seized goods is about UAH 6.5 million.
Currently, he has been remanded in custody as a measure of restraint.
