The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated UAH 1.74 billion from the state budget for the Defense of Ukraine lessons. UAH 1.64 billion will be spent on the purchase of training equipment, including drone control simulations, training ranges and models, as well as first aid kits and cardiac resuscitation simulators. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov on Telegram, UNN reports.

"Drone simulators, training ranges, first aid and 3D printing. We are transforming the lessons of the "Defense of Ukraine". The government has allocated UAH 1.74 billion for this," Fedorov wrote.

According to him, 100 million will be spent on professional development of teachers and UAH 1.64 billion will be spent on the purchase of educational equipment, for example:

- simulation of drone control;

- training ranges and models;

- first aid kits and cardiac resuscitation simulators, a defibrillator simulator, and turnstiles;

- training kits for working with electronics, communications, and 3D printing.

"The lessons of "Defense of Ukraine" should meet modern challenges and technological requirements. Already this year, the Ministry of Education and Science has added a unit on drones to the curriculum. Next, we will completely revise the approach to the "Defense of Ukraine" discipline and simultaneously train teachers and provide schools with modern equipment," Fedorov said.

Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovyi noted that in the context of a full-scale war, the lessons of the subject "Defense of Ukraine" are gaining new meaning.

"This is not abstract knowledge, but very specific skills that students see the need for every day. These are the ability to behave in critical situations, basic first aid skills, knowledge of how to protect themselves and others in case of danger, how to handle explosive devices, use the latest equipment, and so on. All of this can save the lives of students who are about to enter adulthood. And, of course, this is such a relevant national-patriotic education now, which is part of the fight against Russian aggression," emphasized Lisovyi.
