Cyberpolice identified the signs of AI fakes and urged the public to verify content through official sources. To recognize them, they advise looking for body and background defects.

Artificial intelligence allows for the creation of realistic photos and videos in minutes, which are becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish from the real ones. The Cyberpolice have urged Ukrainians to carefully verify content on social media and explained how to recognize AI-generated materials. This was reported by the Cyberpolice, according to UNN.

AI can create fake disasters and statements by famous people

The Cyberpolice noted that today, just a few clicks are enough to create a photo or video of an event that never happened.

In particular, this refers to photos or videos of famous people allegedly saying or doing something, fabricated disasters, and fake sensational news.

Law enforcement officers emphasized that such materials spread quickly on social media and can mislead thousands of people.

What they advise paying attention to

The Cyberpolice explained that AI content often contains characteristic errors.

Among the main signs are unnatural shadows, strange textures or distorted lines, problems with hands and faces—specifically extra fingers or unnatural eyes and teeth—blurred or artificial backgrounds, repetitive objects or people, deformed accessories, and distorted text on signs, road signs, or posters.

Law enforcement also recommends using Google reverse image search to check where exactly the photo or video has been published before.

The Cyberpolice urged to verify information

Law enforcement officers emphasized that even special services for content verification do not provide a 100% guarantee, so it is important to independently analyze information and pay attention to details.

Trust your critical thinking and verify information through official sources

- the Cyberpolice emphasized.

Citizens were also urged not to upload personal or confidential data, including documents or banking information, to third-party services.

If something looks too perfect or, conversely, shocking, it is a reason to stop and check

- the department added.
