Kyiv customs officers uncovered an attempt to illegally import into Ukraine a large batch of spare parts for Russian-made Kamaz, GAZ, Gazelle and other vehicles weighing 23 tons. The attempted import was accompanied by concealment of the origin of the goods, which were produced in Russia and transported through Belarus after the start of the full-scale invasion.
The customs clearance of this cargo was immediately suspended upon discovery of the facts of its origin, and the spare parts were confiscated by the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation in Kyiv as part of criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. In accordance with the legal regime of martial law, the court ruled to confiscate these spare parts, valued at UAH 5.7 million, from the importing company. The batch was transferred to the Azov Special Forces Brigade to repair and restore vehicles used by the unit in combat.
